Frequently Asked Questions – COVID-19

As your concerns about the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) continue to grow, we would like to assure you that we are taking all necessary precautions to keep your children and family safe.

We have put together some frequently asked questions to provide you with clear information about your child’s care at Learning Jungle Schools. If you cannot find the answer to your question below, please contact us directly at: parenthelp@learningjungle.com.

Q1. What happens to my fees if Learning Jungle facilities close?

If Learning Jungle closes a facility due to the outbreak (emergency closure), fees will be refunded except for our existing emergency closure policy of up to three days of unplanned closures in a year. Refer to Parent Handbook, Fee Charges for Emergency Closures.

Q2. What do I need to do before I bring my child to Learning Jungle?

Please ensure that your child does not show symptoms of illness before entry into our facility. We will not check-in any child who is ill.

Q3. What should I do if a member of my family exhibits symptoms of illness?

If you, your child or any other member of your immediate family exhibits symptoms of illness, you should seek professional medical advice immediately. Please do not bring your child to the facility. To keep our environment safe, you will be required to call your local Learning Jungle facility as soon as possible and inform the Director of your situation.

Q4. What is Learning Jungle doing to keep my child safe?

We are monitoring the situation closely and have implemented Preventive Procedures for Staff at all our facilities. This includes:

    • Monitoring child and staff temperatures
    • Increased frequency of handwashing for children and staff
    • Increased frequency of cleaning and disinfection of the facility and materials

Q5. Will Learning Jungle facilities be closing?

If we are directed to close from any of the authorities which govern us, i.e. Childcare Licensing, Public Health, then we will initiate our emergency close-down procedures. Parents will be notified immediately.

Q6. Will snacks and meals still be provided to my child?

If applicable, your child will continue to receive snacks and meals as normal. Should we experience service disruption with our caterer, we will inform you immediately. In this case, we will ask you to provide your child with a packed lunch. Your child’s packed lunch must:

    • Be completely free of nut and nut traces
    • Not require refrigeration
    • Arrive at the facility in a sealed container with your child’s name on the container
    • If you are supplying a drink, label the bottle as well 

Q7. What if my child becomes ill at the Learning Jungle facility?

If a child is exhibiting symptoms while in our facilities, staff will isolate child immediately in a separate area. Parents will be contacted and advised to seek professional medical advice immediately.

Q8. How can I continue my child’s learning experience at home if Learning Jungle facilities are closed?

In the event that we are required to close our facilities for an extended period, we will provide you with age-appropriate activities that you can conduct with your child at home.

Q9. Can my child still attend Learning Jungle School if we have recently travelled out of the country OR are planning to travel out of the country?

Persons / Individuals returning from overseas travel should self-quarantine for 14 days before returning to child care at Learning Jungle.

Q10. Will my child lose their spot if we withdraw temporarily from child care due to COVID-19?

No, don’t worry, we will reserve your spot. Just communicate to your facility Supervisor/Director that you will be returning. 

Q11. What if I choose to voluntarily withdraw my my child?

Concerned families choosing to withdraw voluntarily, may do so by giving at least 48-hour notice (two business days). Due to this unprecedented circumstance, we have reduced the notice time from our regular 2-week policy.

Q12. What if a family member is quarantined?

If a family is required to be quarantined for 14 days or if the family is directly affected by the pandemic or emergency, childcare fees will be waived. Otherwise, normal sickness policy applies.
