Mother’s Day Card

Creative Arts

2.5 years +

We love you mom. Mother’s Day cards are a great way to help children learn about the occasion and to give them an opportunity to express their love for mom in a personalized way.

Materials

  • Paper

  • Coloured pens, pencils, or crayons

  • Non-toxic paint and paint brushes

  • Washable liquid glue (Child’s glue)

  • Cup cake liners

  • Picture of your child

  • Buttons

  • Scissors

Directions

  1. Fold your paper in half using a portrait fold to make the card.
  2. Assist your child to write out their personal message on inside page 2 of the card. Use this opportunity to demonstrate how to properly write out a card, i.e. where to address the recipient, the message, and where to sign the card.
  3. Add a picture of mom and child to your card.
  4. For older children, why not ask them to come up with a short poem for mom.

Design ideas

To make a flower card, simply place different coloured cup cake liners inside each other and glue together. Glue a button to the center of the cup cake liner to increase the flower effect and draw or paint stems.

At Learning Jungle, we believe all children are capable, confident and full of potential. Co-learning empowers your child to take initiative. Encouraging child participation and engaging in open-ended, thought-provoking conversation throughout play is important for healthy child development.
